All in all, the process from sign up to installation can take anywhere from 2 to 4 months with the following stages:
You’ll apply for Solar Plus Plan online and we’ll determine whether you have met the product eligibility criteria
A remote desktop assessment followed by a site assessment will be conducted to check your eligibility and whether the solar and battery system can be installed at your home. These initial checks can take approximately 1 to 3 weeks to complete.
After you pass the remote desktop assessment and the site assessment, you’ll need to apply for the interest free solar battery loan through Plenti, a regulated lender who is the exclusive finance provider for the Empowering Homes program, who will be responsible for approving your loan.
We’ll issue you a Welcome Pack to Solar Plus Plan if your loan application is approved. Your new rate will start once your electricity account has transferred to us based on a meter read date that’s agreed with your current supplier (we will apply for the transfer and agree the date with your current supplier). The transfer of the account usually occurs within 2 business days of us making the application.
We’ll then initiate the installation process for your new digital smart meter followed by the solar and battery system which could take 2-3 months to complete and we’ll keep you updated on progress.
