Due to new market rules developed by AEMO under the Reduced Customer Switch Time (RCST) initiative, in certain circumstances customers can be transferred to the new retailer retrospectively. The date which this occurs is determined by when your meter was last read.

  • For manually read meters:

    • When “last meter read” date is within last 65 business days of sign up date, customer transfer occurs retrospectively on the most recent “last meter read” date

    • When “last meter read” date is unavailable OR is older than last 65 business days of sign up date, customer transfer occurs prospectively on the next business day or within 65 business days in the future

  • For remotely read meters:

    • When “last meter read” date is unavailable OR not within last 10 business days of sign up date, customer transfer occurs prospectively on the next business day

    • When “last meter read” date is available within last 10 business days of sign up date, customer transfer occurs retrospectively on the “last meter read” date
